Bucks Lake Fire Department is a volunteer fire department in the Plumas National Forest of Plumas County, California. Bucks Lake is west of Reno, NV by 90 miles and south-east of Chico, CA at an elevation of 5000 feet. Bucks Lake is a winter and summer resort area centered around the lake. Winter boasts over 120 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, while summer opens the Plumas National Forest to many uses. Hiking, Fishing, Wilderness, Camping, Enjoying the outdoors.
There are 300 homes and seven camp grounds in the area. Bucks Lake residents and visitors support 2 lodges, a bed and breakfast, local store. Summer visitors pack the campgrounds and enjoy the serene landscape as well the lake. Fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, canoe, kyacks, and walking in the forest or shoreline are examples of lake activities.
Our primary use of the area is for recreation as Bucks Lake is a PG&E power producing lake. As the first in the hydro-electric system of the Feather River Canyon, Bucks Lake is a key part of the California electric production infrastructure. Contact us at: BuckslakeFD@aol.com
