Today I think about the arduous task of going house to house, business to business looking for the remains of someones loved one.
This horrible task is assigned to our fellow Search and Rescue teams from all over California. I have had the privilege to work with the dedicated people of Marin County Sheriffβs Search and Rescue team in the past and can without a doubt say this is one of the most dedicated and professional teams.
As these searchers work side by side with other VOLUNTEER, TRAINED, SKILLED, SAR persons there is no doubt they will accomplish the task of locating our missing friends and family. I hope this brings closure to the many who are impacted by this tragic event.
I have seen that several of Marin SAR are leading the hundreds of professional volunteers and I can only say thank you from the bottom of my heart. To take time away from your lives to help others is truly admirable.
While I am not physically with you as you accomplish this task I salute you. Thanks Mike, Rich, and all the others.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Containment lines are established and are holding winds have diminished.
Bucks Lake may see some smoke today but the bulk of the fire is 14 miles to the south west. This fire line is reminiscent of the fires about 10 years ago. Those fires did not get into the Bucks Lake Area they stopped outside on the ridges and containment lines.
I drove through the Brush Creek area and the dozers were working on the sides of the Oro-Quincy Highway expanding the width on the sides of the pavement, pushing out the dirt and debris to form an additional containment line.
Lets hope for calm winds and ask for rain into the future. It should be snowing in November at Bucks Lake. As it has in the past.

WE WERE ABLE TO SEE THE 747 AIRCRAFT MAKE SEVERAL RETARDANT DROPS. THAT AIRCRAFT CAN LEAVE A RETARDANT LINE OVER 1 MILE LONG. It carries 18,500 gallons of retardant.
