Where’s The Snow?
Don’t ask me I have no idea… But remember 2011? We had loads of snow in March 2011 Sooooo…… in a wishful guess I think it may be around the corner.
Snowdrifter Poker Run Success
As you can see by the picture it was a total success with more than 200 attendee’s. And the best part Bucks Lake Fire was attending and on stand by prepared to assist if someone got injured. I am pleased to report the day went off without a hitch.
We blended our winter rescue team with some of Meadow Valley Fire’s finest to enjoy the day and be available if needed.
As a small reward for Meadow Valley’s support our new “over the snow rescue vehicle” was staffed by Meadow Valley Fire as well one of their personal snowmobiles. We had a great time being included in the activities. The lunch was wonderful as has come to be the norm. Jay and crew really have that part down, they work like a well oiled machine.
Winter Rescue Team Trains At Bucks Lake Fire
I would like to thank the Bucks Lake Volunteer Firefighters Foundation, Captain Carl, and Twin Rivers Polaris in Yuba City for your support in the delivery of a new Polaris General, “over the snow vehicle”. This new vehicle will replace the ATV that was loaned to us about 6 years ago. Our new General can really help to access and provide support to an injured person in the winter months at Bucks Lake.
With the help of Jay and Barbara we provided training in the safe operation of this “Buggy” and the use of the attached rescue sled. There were about 20 people from the “locals” to the Snowdrifters Snowmobile Club in attendance. All in all a great day.
Honorable mentions go to Jack Brown, Exe. of the Capt. Carl trust, and Bill Fortna of Twin Rivers Polaris, you guys are the best. Thank you for helping Bucks Lake Fire Department.
Let’s do the snow dance and prepare for a great winter at Bucks Lake. Snowdrifters Poker Run is scheduled for February 3 rd. See you there
