UPDATE: 5/25/17 Big Creek Road is open from Meadow Valley to Bucks Lake……still working on Oro-Quincy Highway.
UPDATE: 5/24/17 County hopes to have Big Creek and Oro-Quincy Highway open by the weekend, Maybe….. Better call first to confirm the back roads open or suffer the long detour back to the canyon and up to Quincy.
There’s still plenty of snow so access is limited to most campgrounds, and the crews are busy trying to get the campgrounds cleaned up and ready for your arrival. Might want to call to confirm the campground you want to stay at is open.
We will post pictures as we get them on this site to give you a glimpse into the amount of snow still around. If you had plans to come up on Memorial Day, your plan may be in jeopardy.

Cutting to the chase….. the Road Department will NOT be plowing any time soon. They are out of money due to the severe winter and are waiting for emergency money to arrive from the federal government, or the state. Or for the snow to melt enough for them to plow without spending much money.
